The Georgetown County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission is seeking candidates to fill the following Full-Time position. Peer Recovery Coach
The Peer Recovery Coach (PRC) provides non-clinical services intended to support patients in their recovery journey from use of drugs and alcohol that has impacted their ability to function in their daily life. The PRC will work as part of the Emergency Department (ED) team to provide recovery support, motivation to encourage patients who are seeking treatment, and system navigation using a patient centered approach. The PRC will assist in completing referrals to treatment services and developing recovery plan to promote successful linkage to treatment services and/or other services in which the patient expresses interest. Services will be provided in the Tidelands- Georgetown Memorial Hospital Emergency Department, or other parts of the hospital as permitted by the hospital. The PRC must be available to work extend shifts, weekend shifts and holidays as determined by project leadership.
Minimum qualifications are: High school diploma or GED. Must be a former consumer of substance use disorder treatment. And have a minimum of three years of continuous successful recovery. Must be actively engaged with his/her recovery process/program. Must complete a South Carolina certified peer support training program, completing all hours, and passing the end of the course exam.
Salary is set at $35,000.00 as determined by grant funding. The position is a temporary full-time position and is contingent on grant continuation.
Clinical Counselor
Applicant must be able to provide substance abuse treatment services to individuals in an outpatient setting. This position will be focused on serving persons with opioid substance use as the presenting problem.
Qualifications:
Preferred are: Master’s degree in a health service’s related field and NADAC credentialed Addictions Counselor II or Master Addiction Counselor (or);
Minimum is: a Bachelor’s degree in a health services field and SCAADAC certified Addiction Counselor Credentialed.
Starting Salary range is $35,000 to $43,000 based on education and experience.
