Employment Opportunities

The Georgetown County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission is seeking to fill two grant funded positions which are supported through June of 2020. The positions are funded as full-time positions with benefits and are available to be filled immediately. Clinical Counselor

Applicant must be able to provide substance abuse treatment services to individuals in an outpatient setting. This position will be focused on serving persons with opioid substance use as the presenting problem.

Minimum qualifications are:

Master’s degree in a health service’s related field and NADAC credentialed Addictions Counselor II or Master Addiction Counselor or a Bachelor’s degree in a health services field and SCAADAC certified Addiction Counselor Credentialed.

Salary range is $30,000 to $35,000 based on education and experience.


Peer Support Specialist

Applicant must be able to provide peer support and recovery resources to clients receiving substance use disorder treatment services in an outpatient setting. The individual will assist clients in enhancing necessary life skills in order to make recovery successful.

Minimum qualifications are:

High school diploma or GED. Must be a former consumer of substance use disorder treatment. Recovery from an alcohol and/or other drug use disorder for a period of no less than two years and two years of active participation in a local or national self-help group or recovery movement are required. Requires certification by DAODAS as a Peer Support Specialist or the ability to achieve certification immediately upon employment.

Salary range is $27,000 to $30,000 based on experience.
