Prevention Specialist
The Georgetown County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission is accepting applications to fill a fulltime Prevention Specialist position. Qualifying applicant must be able to coordinate and implement activities designed to reduce substance misuse among the Georgetown County population. Youth and adolescent age groups are the central focus of the primary prevention activities.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a health services field or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Starting Salary range is $31,500 to $34,000 based on education and experience. Benefits included.

Peer Coordinator
The Peer Coordinator position will organize and oversee the peer services delivered through GADAC. The Peer Coordinator will be directly supervised by the Treatment Manager and will provide oversight and coordination of the functions of the Peer Support specialist. The coordinator will provide onsite support and coverage at both the Georgetown Hospital Emergency Room and at the GADAC main office. The job tasks will include (by not limited) to): creating and managing Hospital ER work coverage schedule, providing supervision and support to Peer Navigators, and coordinating activities of the GADAC peer support outreach activities as set by Treatment Manager and Agency Director. The coordinator position is expected to work 37.5 hours per week and will have a flexible schedule to allow for time to oversee Georgetown ER Peer staff. The work week will run from Saturday to Friday and the Peer Coordinator will have to complete and submit a biweekly timesheet.
Minimum qualifications are:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Must be a former consumer of substance use disorder treatment. Must have a minimum of three years of continuous successful recovery. Must be actively engaged with his/her recovery process/program. Peer Support Credentials are preferred along with supervisory experience.
The salary will be commensurate with experience and current organization salary ranges.
Peer Recovery Coach
The Peer Recovery Coach (PRC) provides non-clinical services intended to support patients in their recovery journey from use of drugs and alcohol that has impacted their ability to function in their daily life. The PRC will work as part of the Emergency Department (ED) team to provide recovery support, motivation to encourage patients who are seeking treatment, and system navigation using a patient centered approach. The PRC will assist in completing referrals to treatment services and developing recovery plans to promote successful linkage to treatment services and/or other services in which the patient expresses interest. Services will be provided in the Tidelands- Georgetown Memorial Hospital Emergency Department, or other parts of the hospital as permitted by the hospital. The PRC must be available to work extended shifts, weekend shifts and holidays as determined by project leadership.
Minimum qualifications are: High school diploma or GED. Must be a former consumer of substance use disorder treatment. And have a minimum of three years of continuous successful recovery. Must be actively engaged with his/her recovery process/program. Must complete a South Carolina certified peer support training program, completing all hours, and passing the end of the course exam.
Starting Salary is $36,000 for FT, Grant dependent employment position.
